City centre businesses Gee-up for the races with Pete Price
City Central BID and its members are staging a Grand National themed fashion show in Williamson Square on Thursday 18th March. There will be three shows taking place throughout the day from midday that will include fashion brands from retailers such as Marks and Spencer’s, St Johns, Metquarter and many more stores from across the city centre.
The public will be entertained by DJ (compare) Pete Price who will be introducing the mix of key spring looks in fashion and beauty brands on the catwalk.
A free interactive style consultant service will also be available for anyone wanting a few tips on what compliments them best.
Ged Gibbons the Chief Executive of City Central BID said “The Aintree Races are such a huge event in Liverpool and we really encourage all our members to take advantage of the increased footfall that comes into the city. I know the people of Liverpool take great pride in choosing what to wear for the Races so I have no doubts the public will really enjoy the fashion show at Williamson Square on Thursday afternoon on 18th March. It’s also great to see businesses getting involved by dressing their windows with a races theme.
Alongside the activity, businesses will be competing to win the £1000 prize for the best dressed window competition. Businesses already taking part are Marks and Spencer, (in store display), Take Two and Optimark on Bold Street, Wongs Jewellers in Rainford Square and Silverbergs Opticians on Whitechapel. Last year Lewis was the winner walking away with 10 tickets to The Grand National.
Michael Silverberg the store manager said “We are really excited about entering The Best Dressed Window competition; it will certainly put our creativity to the test in making our window a real show stopper. If we were to win the £1000 prize I would take the team out for a good night out as recognition for all the hard work”
